Combo European Pear Tree

Our Combo European Pear Tree is the perfect choice if you are limited on space and can’t decide which pear to plant. Plus, you don’t have to worry about cross pollination! The varieties on the tree are subject to change each year.

This year, these unique trees feature a combination of the 4 following varieties: Anjou, Summercrisp, Comice, Gem, and Seckel.

Latin Name: Pyrus communis
Site and Soil: European Pears like full to 1/2 day sun and well-drained soil.
Rootstock Description: A dwarfing rootstock for European Pears, OHxF 513 produces trees 10-12 ft. in height.
Pollination Requirements: All varieties grafted onto combo trees will cross pollinate with each other.
Hardiness: European Pears are hardy to minus 25°F. or below.
Bearing Age: 2-3 years after planting.
Size at Maturity: 10-12 ft. in height.
Bloom Time: April
Ripening Time: Early September
Yield: 50+ lbs.
Pests & Diseases: Our European Pear varieties are generally quite disease resistant and easy to grow. Except for occasional problems with Codling Moth, we have not seen significant insect damage on our varieties.

Rootstock Description: A vigorous and very productive rootstock for Asian Pears, Pyrus betuaefolia produces trees 10′-12′ in height. P. bet grows well in both heavy and light soils.
Pollination Requirements: With this combination we have cross pollination covered!
Hardiness: Asian Pears are hardy to minus 25° F.
Bearing Age: 1-2 years after planting.
Size at Maturity: 10-12 ft. in height
Bloom Time: Early April
Ripening Time: Mid-July to early August
Yield: 50+ lbs.
Pests & Diseases: Kosui is resistant to fire-blight.
