Unique for its lack of thorns, hard to find Spineless Caper produces abundant, tasty flower buds, which are pickled or salted before use.

Latin Name: Capparis inermis
Site and Soil: Caper likes 1/2 day to full sun and well-drained soil.
Pollination Requirements: Pollination is not required.
Hardiness: Caper is hardy to about 15º  F. In cold regions, grow in a container and bring to a protected location in the fall.
Bearing Age: 2-3 years after planting
Size at Maturity: 2-3 ft. in height
